I have a 2006 E350 with the factory navigation unit. Until recently, I was using the 2008 Navigation DVD without issues. However, I wanted to get the updates for new maps, roads, etc so I purchased the 2015 DVD. I inserted into the trunk DVD reader and now the system is very buggy. When I try to navigate, it often shows me as Off Road.
When entering addresses, I will press the ok button to start navigation and it will just go back to the previous screen. Most of the time it seems it is unusable and was a complete waste of money. Was there some software update that I missed or something else I needed to do? Thanks for any help. It seems to be working better now. Before, it was showing my position as 'off road' when I was attempting to navigate (even as I was driving along a road).
Also, some POI locations would not get the navigation instructions as it would just return to the previous screen. Last night, I removed the 2015 DVD and re-inserted my 2008 DVD. That one was working for some of the POI locations that I was having problems with. Then, I removed the 2008 and put the 2015 DVD back in and now it seems to be working. I'm not sure what happened but it may not have updated properly the first time.
